Eden Wilde was born in California in an illegal home birth at the stroke of midnight between the 13th and the 14th of December 1981.

The midwife said her watch read 11:59. An argument ensued. Her aunt insisted the 13th was bad luck. Her father had a toothache so terrible he was willing to agree to anything. Her mother didn't care either way. As a Sagittarius, baby Eden already had an opinion but was largely ignored (she would've chosen the 13th. It did all the hard work).

She discovered Roald Dahl at age six and decided this was her calling. Which, in her young mind, basically translated to writing the best kind of absurdity. So she wrote, and self-published her very first book in 1988—a largely unappreciated novella titled The Triangle Girl. It had a shaky plot, questionable execution, but great characters—all of which were triangle-shaped. The book itself was also triangular.

Everything went downhill after this.

But ultimately, she recovered from The Triangle Girl failure around age 43 and decided it was time to try again. She thought, I'm going to write a rom-com. Even though she had never read one before. She indie published two short novellas that had shaky plots, questionable execution, but great characters.

In August of 2026, 44.5 years after the illegal home birth with the debatable birth date, and 38.2 years after her first indie title hit the dining room table and then her Dad’s file cabinet, her very first full-length novel was released. The plot is considerably less shaky. The execution, decent. The characters are great.

These days you can find her with a Choco-Avo Power Protein Smoothie nearby, music playing too loud, typing at the kitchen table, and chucking balls out the sliding glass door for Louie. She now lives in Colorado, where she misses the beach every single day, and writes stories full of second chances, lovable disasters, healing hearts, mischievous pets, and the kind of people you'd happily invite over for coffee and muffins.

Now she wants a muffin.

And she’s forgotten what we were talking about.
